Avendus Wealth Management is the wealth arm of Avendus, the KKR-backed Indian financial-services group being acquired by Japan's Mizuho. In December 2025 Mizuho Securities agreed to buy more than 60% of Avendus Capital for up to 47 billion rupees (about $516 million), taking Avendus off KKR and making it a Mizuho consolidated subsidiary. Avendus Wealth sits within a group spanning institutional equities, wealth management and asset management; unlike Nuvama or ASK, no offshore branch of its own could be verified this session (avendus.com was unreachable). Its relevance to the NRI corridor is as an ownership story rather than a verified offshore-branch operator.

Why it matters

Avendus is the corridor's ownership story rather than its offshore story: Gulf and Japanese capital are buying into the Indian wealth machine (Mizuho here, as Emirates NBD and PAG do elsewhere). No offshore diaspora booking centre of its own could be verified this session — a reminder that not every Indian wealth brand has physically gone offshore, and that some enter the corridor as an acquisition target rather than as a branch operator.
